(2)满足需求。培训能够部分满足青年的现实需要，青年有成长、学习、生活、工作的多方面的需要，例如，在交往方面，他们需要结交朋友，确立自我，了解他人，培训可以满足这种愿望。
(3)学会学习。现代社会，原有的知识已远远不能满足需要，需从概念、方法、新的思维方式等方方面面不断学习，培训就是给青年灌输这样的理念和提供所需要的平台。
(4)促进成长。当代社会，要求青年要有紧迫感；看待事物要有新角度；会容纳不同的认识和看法；常思考哲学问题“人为什么而活?”通过培训，团员青年可以进一步意识到自己的责任，自己的职业角色、家庭角色、行业责任以及社会责任，以及国家、民族的前途、命运，肩负起自身的光荣使命。
(5)得到奖赏。培训所获得的知识，在将来的工作、生活中可以应用；培训中的经历可让青年在其中获得快乐，如交上知心朋友，展示自己的特长等。
虽然这里归纳了许多培训的益处，但也不是说每次培训就会有这些收获，必须在认识清晰、准备精心、实施完善的情况下，才可能达到。培训是相当特殊而有价值的事，因为帮助学习是令人兴奋的活动，就如一位智者所言，在一切生物中，人类独特之处是他们基本上有适应能力的专门性，且不取决于某个特定的具体形式、技能或其在一个生态环境中的适合性，而取决于其同适应过程本身的关联——即取决于学习过程。基于这样的认识，我们关于培训的学习就更有意义了。
