在当今品牌经济时代,一个国家品牌企业的多寡,决定该国企业是否具有竞争力,也决定该国经济强盛与否。2003年美国《商业周刊》推出的 100个全球最有价值品牌的前10个品牌,美国占了8个,这是美国企业最具国际竞争力的表现。医药经济也是这样。进入上述品牌排名的医药企业有美国的辉瑞(Pfizer)公司,强生(Johnson)公司和默克(Merek)公司,其品牌价值分别为104.6, 94.1,27.1亿美元。其单个品牌价值远远大于“2002中国最有价格品牌”第9位的“三九集团”(82.08亿元人民币)和第24 位的“山东新华医药集团”(26.15亿元人民币)。由此可见,美国医药具有竞争力,是与他们具有世界一流的品牌企业分不开的。所以,我国医药企业实施品牌战略,壮大企业的品牌实力,可以有效提高医药企业的国际竞争力,振兴国家的民族药业。
2.2 增强企业的研发实力 品牌的核心和依托是产品。
品牌企业正是依赖于一个个受消费者认可和喜爱的品牌产品,去占领市场并创造利润,使品牌得以巩固和发展。随着科学技术发展,科技成果转化为商品的周期缩短,产品的生存周期必然不断缩短。因此,企业必须不断进行产品创新,才能适应消费者日新月异的消费需求。而产品创新的前提是技术创新,只有持续不断地技术创新,才能推动品牌价值的持续提升,制药企业更是这样。制药工业属于高新技术产业,可以说其竞争就是研究和开发(R&D)能力的竞争。世界上著名医药企业之所以具有品牌竞争力,就是因为它们具有较强的技术创新能力和研发实力。2002年辉瑞公司的研发投入为51.8亿美元,默克公司26.7 亿美元,强生公司27.0亿美元,分别占其销售收入的18.4%, 12.3%和15.7%。以辉瑞为例,1999-2003年其研发投入分别为40.36,44.35,47.76,51.76,71.00亿美元,研发投入逐年递增。可是,中国每年专用于新药开发的资金只有1000万- 2000万元人民币,加上制药企业自身投入的资金总计也不到医药工业产值的1%。新药研制投入严重不足,直接导致新药的创新研制能力及制剂水平低下,这是我国医药企业品牌力低下重要原因之一。因此,实施品牌战略,必然能提高我国医药企业的研发实力。
