国家形象宣传片( national image publicity film )是配合近来为配合公共外交的启动而出现并实施的新概念,我国外宣工作的官方翻译是The country will start shooting its first national publicity film in the capital as part of latest efforts to boost its image worldwide.其中的national publicity film就是指“国家形象宣传片”,这里的国家形象指的是我国在国际社会上的national image。Publicity film就是我们常说的“宣传片”,该片包括两部分,feature movie(专题片)和commercial(广告宣传片)。另外,Propaganda和publicity都表示“宣传”,但propaganda要慎用,它倾向于用夸张的想法和说法获取支持或影响民意,显然是一个贬义词。Publicity则是一个中性词,例如He works in publicity.(他是干宣传工作的。)因此“宣传部”就可以译为Department of Publicity,而“对外宣传”则常用international publicity来表示。

最后一组画面是:航天员杨利伟、翟志刚、景海鹏、刘伯明、聂海胜、费俊龙是“让世界更大的中国人”。

随后,屏幕上出现许多张中国人的笑脸,来诠释“让世界更小的中国人”。

星星点点的笑脸汇聚成繁体的“中国”二字,出现在背景为中国红的画面中。

除制作方简介的名单外,南都记者还在资料片中看到了袁隆平、黄永玉和表演《千手观音》的邰丽华。

Opening the door with confidence
In 1979, China opened the biggest window in the world to the outside and China suddenly dazzled people with the panorama of change. Some may argue under such huge material and mental stimulation, it would be hard to maintain equilibrium. (bla bla bla)
But after 30 years, the world has seen how much China’ profound history and cultural essence has given, lead us to flexibility and unity when facing fast transformation. (bla bla bla)
Observers must admit in its meeting with the world, China has preserved its own special character. Several respective international polls rank us No.1 in terms of public confidence in the future. 我自己听译了一下,个别地方也听不太准,有一处语法也不大对,就是“But after 30 years,”之后那句,但他好像就是那么念得

孟子说的那段话,出自《孟子• 梁惠王上》。我觉得应该是这句
“数(cu,去声)罟不入洿池,鱼鳖不可胜食也;斧斤以时入山林,材木不可胜用也”。
网上都写翻译成“不涸泽而渔,不焚林而猎”,但这句话出自《文子》,介个是老子的弟子写的,so是道家的,Mencius可是儒家的。

另外说一句,这个宣传片英文可以当范文背,中文不知道是怎么翻译的,有失水准,估计是要在外国播,中文无所谓吧~囧
